3 km from Aghagallon, Ireland

Bantam tug, Lough Neagh
Bantam tug, Lough Neagh
More than 90 of the 25ft “Bantam” tugs were built for use on inland waterways. Few survive and fewer still survive to serve their original purpose. This one “Bantam 2” is used to tow a sand barge in the event of a breakdown on Lough Neagh. Built in 1955. Usually kept at this small cut (not shown on the OS map). Taken on private property by kind consent.
