Looking down on Pigeon Cove
Looking down on Pigeon Cove
There are several large caves just under Inishowen head. They are known locally as Pigeon Cove. They are just about accessible at low tide by approaching along the rocky shoreline from Port a Dorais, but a some climbing and scrambling skills are needed. A sea approach would not be possible because of the dangerous rocks. Many species of sea-bird have a tranquil home down there.
