Teampall an Cheathrair Álainn
The "church of the four beautiful ones" is a 15th-century building on a much older site. Note the fresh flowers on the altar. The "beautiful" saints of the dedication (Fursa or Fursey the apostle of East Anglia, Brendan of Birr, Conall and Berchan) are said to be buried in graves (Leaba an Cheathrair Álainn) within the site. In the background the mainland of Connemara (Iar Chonnacht) is seen across the waters of Galway Bay.
