This wood is privately owned by orthopaedic surgeon Marcus Green, but is open to the public under the 'NHS Forest' scheme. However please note that the paths through the wood are not public rights of way.text/html2020-05-07T22:11:33+00:00https://www.geograph.ie/profile/43031John Brightley52.334451 -1.555720SP3070 : Rhododendrons in Thickthorn Wood, Kenilworth

Until the construction of the A46 in the 1970's, this path was a driveway to Stoneleigh Abbey, and the rhododendrons still line the route today,text/html2020-05-07T22:04:56+00:00https://www.geograph.ie/profile/43031John Brightley52.334633 -1.556452SP3070 : Stream in Thickthorn Wood, Kenilworth

The former Sephton's boatyard house and narrowboat 'Carnival', which was moored here for many years. Shortly after this photo was taken, the house became vacant, was badly vandalised and finally demolished. The building which stands on the site today is new, in the style of the old.text/html2017-11-28T21:45:44+00:00https://www.geograph.ie/profile/43031John Brightley52.476220 -1.916625SP0586 : Grosvenor Street West entrance to Sherborne Street Depot, 1982

Looking over the rooftops towards Wyken.
Fairfax Street and Cox Street in the foreground.
Demolition is taking place on Cox Street to make way for the Ring Road.
The roof of another factory building behind has also been removed - I think that this was the old Francis Barnett factory.text/html2017-11-13T19:42:07+00:00https://www.geograph.ie/profile/43031?a=Richard+WarrenRichard Warren52.407513 -1.503537SP3378 : View south-east from Priory Hall, 1967

Looking south-east over the Lanchester Polytechnic buildings towards Gosford Street and Stoke.
The buildings on the extreme left of the view are the backs of houses in Godiva Street, a street which was demolished completely shortly after this photo was taken to make way for the Ring Road. Clearance has already started - the area of open space in the middle of the view is where the Ring Road now runs.
