Geograph ideas ::

Camera positions on experimental coverage map

proposed by Rudi Winter

Add a switch to the experimental coverage map to change to a mode where the marker is shown at the camera position instead of the subject position. An added bonus would be if the marker could also show the view direction as on Geotrips (which may have a line or two of reusuable code...).

Agree with switch to Geotrips-style of showing photo location/direction of view - but would much prefer features of the experimental coverage map to be incorporated into the original coverage map.

Why people think this would be a good idea... · This would make it easier to judge what the terrain is like along a planned route: Can I walk up this slope or is it a climb? How boggy is this damp patch really? Can I walk through this alleyway or is it closed off? and similar questions. by Rudi Winter
· When visiting a new (for me) square, the camera position is a much better indicator of where previous visitors have been, making it easier to decide where to take one's own pictures. by Alan Murray-Rust
