Geograph ideas ::

HTTPS support for www.geograph.org.uk

proposed by Barry Hunter
In Progress

More and more the web is moving to https. Certain browsers features require it, and search engines tend to favour sites with https support.

Our server infrastructure needs upgrading to support https across the board. Mainly as multiple front ends are used for various legacy reasons (eg apache/haproxy/varnish/edgecast/maxcdn). If we consolidate and move away from using a CDN provider (where ssl is expensive anyway!) and run everything say though haproxy (does good ssl termination), then becomes practical to enable SSL.
