Thames Tideway Tunnel :: Shared Description

The largest construction project in London following the completion of Crossrail will be the Thames Tideway Tunnel (nicknamed the "supersewer"), a 25km interception, storage and transfer sewer tunnel up to 65m deep running from Hounslow to Abbey Mills and largely following under the river to avoid existing tube tunnels etc. Construction is anticipated to last from 2016 to 2022.
