Stricklands Glen, Bangor :: Shared Description

A small glen on the western side of Bangor that was laid out for public recreation c1914 around the small Bryans Burn river that runs through it. Formerly there was a small scutch mill at the top of the glen, although this was already marked as 'old' in maps of 1833. Today the glen is a popular area for walkers and leads from the Bryansburn Road to the coastline of Belfast Lough.
