The A8(M), Northern Ireland :: Shared Description
A short (one mile) and steeply-graded stretch of dual two-lane motorway, opened in 1966, forming part of the Belfast – Larne road. It starts at the Sandyknowes roundabout at Mallusk (where there is a third lane in the outward direction and ends at the Corr’s Corner roundabout near Ballyearl and Mossley. It has one flyover which carries the Ballycraigy Road. There are vague plans for a flyover at Sandyknowes. It has the distinction of being the only A(M) road in Northern Ireland.
