Class 155 diesel multiple units
Introduction

The British Rail Class 155 Sprinter is a class of diesel multiple-unit trains. They were were built by Leyland Bus at Workington between 1987 and 1988 . They actually used some Leyland bus components.
It was one class of several designed to replace ageing "Heritage" DMU's, these second-generation units being built to then modern standards.
Most 155 train sets were converted to Class 153 single carriage units by Hunslet-Barclay at Kilmarnock from 1991–92. See - Link
However, West Yorkshire Passenger Transport Executive refused to allow the seven units (numbered 155341-155347) which they owned to be converted and they still operate today under the Northern franchise.
