Introduction

Class 195, No. 195001 Bradford Interchange

Class 195 is a class of Diesel Multiple Units (DMU's) that were built by CAF (Construcciones y Auxiliar de Ferrocarriles) and are owned by Eversholt Rail Group and currently operated exclusively by Northern Trains. 58 units have been built; 25 two-car units (designated Class 195/0) and 33 three-car units (designated Class 195/1).
They first entered service on 1 July 2019 with the final Class 195 unit entering service on December 2020. All 58 units work across non-electrified routes on the extensive Northern network.
Class 195 was intended to replace the the unpopular Pacer trains, which have all now been phased out.
