New Year's Day 2015

Some people take active part and add their photos to the forum thread, as well as attaching the shared description to their image. Many others take the photo and submit it to the site, but don't post to the forum. Others go out for lengthy walks with their cameras and take lots of photos.
I thought I'd bring all these groups together - a total of 70 photographers. I've arranged the images in more or less (map) north to south order and added a brief description where there was none.

As it was mild and dry we went birding, and found 50 species of bird at Lossiemouth, Spynie Loch and environs. Favourite sightings were lots of Crested Tits, some Tree Sparrows and about 200 NJ2562 : Winter Visitors. This is the Lossie Estuary at Lossiemouth, where there were the usual large flocks of wintering Wigeon among others.

The New Year's Day parkrun at Camperdown Park - runners endured a very wet day as evidenced by the raindrops on the camera lens. Much of the course was muddy, and care was needed to avoid falling. The Camperdown course is quite difficult, with a lengthy ascent in adjacent gridsquare NO3532. Several of the runners had completed the Perth parkrun event held earlier that morning before moving on to Camperdown for the later start, completing two events in one day.
