New Year's Day 2019

Some people take active part and add their photos to the forum thread, as well as attaching the shared description to their image. Many others take the photo and submit it to the site, but don't post to the forum. Others go out for lengthy walks with their cameras and take lots of photos.
I thought I'd bring all these groups together - a total of 101 photographers. I've arranged the images in more or less (map) north to south order and added a brief description where there was none.

The memorial stands on top of a small hill named Knock Langal. This view, looking north west, takes in most of Carbost village and much of the sea-loch, Loch Harport. Carbost is the home to the Talisker whisky distillery - the only whisky distillery on Skye. I suspect the product made here was responsible for a few muzzy heads this New Year's Day morning.

No snow but the temperature was most certainly wintry - around -2, with a bitter north wind; even the dog has his winter jacket on. A lovely day to be out though on the lovely ridge of the Munro of Meall nan Tarmachan. The climbers are on the lumps and bumps of Beinn nan Eachan.

The lovely weather brought out lots of walkers for the start of 2019. A low-tide walk around the Heads of Ayr, which is a volcanic plug, is always enjoyable.
