Time to start on the remainder of the UK. DERBYSHIRE There is a little enclave around the Swadlincote area. There is one oven at the former Bretby Brick & Stoneware Company, Newhall . The works of T G Green at Church Gresley are home to no fewer than four bottle ovens although difficult to show them well. There is a solitary oven at a works just over the road . At Sharpe's Pottery Museum in Swadlincote there is a horribly mutilated example . At Woodville there is another solitary one that is now in a scrapyard At Mapperley there is a surviving bottle oven at a venue called The Bottle Kiln . Apparently used for bricks not pottery. This is outside the Swadlincote enclave. |

There is a relocated bottle-shaped kiln at Barnstaple that has been slightly relocated from the C H Brannam pottery to behind the Brannam Medical Centre A device referred to as a bottle kiln in exeter was actually a malt kiln and doesn't count. |
