Midland Bank Branches in Birmingham in 1963, 40-11-01 to 40-11-40 - As they are now

Wed, 7 Jan 2009 15:45 RoyHughes	I joined Midland Bank Limited in 1963 and worked for the Bank ( later as HSBC) for 32 years. I spent all but the last two of them at branches in Birmingham. When I joined there were nearly fifty branches and sub-offices starting with the sorting codes 40-11-XX. I recently decided to photograph what was left of them. With the aid of a copy of the branch directory from June 1962, helpfully provided by HSBC Archives Department (thank you Rachael) I have visited all the ones listed. I think the directory missed 40-11-24 which may have been Sheldon - can anyone confirm this please and give me the postal address? I have photographs of everyone, except the elusive 11-24, taken over the past few weeks and am in the process of submitting them to this site. I have tried to get an accurate picture of each branch, or site as it now exists, but with the development of Birmingham over the past 45 years I may have made some mistakes. I am happy to stand corrected where necessary.
