A selection of images celebrating the Odeon cinemas of the inter-war years, built in a style loosely named "Art Deco". Unfortunately time has not been kind to these buildings. Although some are still in use as cinemas, others have been demolished, or converted into other uses, for example bingo halls, churches and carpet warehouses. The most comprehensive book on the Odeons is: Eyles, Allan Odeon Cinemas: Oscar Deutsch Entertains Our Nation. London: BFI, 2002.
