That nice Mr. Martin of JDW has bought at least one other pub the Troubadour in S. Ockendon Essex. It became yet another Moon Underwater for several years, it was then sold on and is now run by G.K as The Woodlands Edge. |

There's a Weatherspoons in Heanor, Derbyshire which has quite obviously always been a pub, called the Red Lion if I remember rightly (around about SK432 465). |

During a misspent youth (and beyond) I drank in many a hostelry - particularly those selling Tetley's Bitter during the Tetley Pub Hunt, and came across many with unusual names. But this one is unique - to me anyway...
...Why on earth would you call a pub The Bunch of Carrots? Here it is at Hampton Bishop near Hereford. ![]() |

Thanks for dispelling the local legend that the Tally-Ho! is unique. Perhaps it was their first real pub, who knows? It was the Tally-Ho! when Weatherspoon's bought it and has always retained its name. |
