Geo-Trips :: Around Hereford
Moorhampton
A drive from High Cogges, Sun, 3 Jul 2022 by David Howard
Having covered my planned longer trips this season there was still plenty of summertime left, so I checked the map to see where the wide open spaces were I could make a good impression. There was a gap NW of Gloucester, so took one of my favourite roads, the A40, which rarely gets busy and has nice scenery with no stops for villages or series of roundabouts like so many A roads do. The bonus was coming back there was a local route to Gloucester I didn't know about through Newent rather than Ledbury, which covered a second new road in parallel. I'd only been to Hereford once in 1977, so was good to get back with a camera and go around the countryside further to the west.
Click the blue circles to see a photograph taken from that spot and read further information about the location. The blue lines indicate the direction of view. There is also a slideshow of this trip. ( )
