Geo-Trips :: The Berks/Oxon borders
Aldworth
A drive from Denham, Sun, 10 Jul 2022 by David Howard
This was a nice summer trip up and down the Thames either side between Henley and past Wallingford. It featured plenty of traditional villages and cottages, and is typical of some of the more traditional British villages of the past. A regular route is heading west on the M40 and entering new territory, and returning on the A40 as there is no rush on the return leg and can always find something interesting before Uxbridge. The border between the two counties was changed from the Thames in 1975, so most of the area covered has changed counties since then.
Click the blue circles to see a photograph taken from that spot and read further information about the location. The blue lines indicate the direction of view. There is also a slideshow of this trip. ( )
