Geo-Trips :: Dorchester, Casterbridge: Hardy a problem...
Dorchester
A walk from Junction of High West Street and Glyde Park Road, Sat, 29 Apr 2023 by Basher Eyre
In my O-level year are set book was The Mayor of Casterbridge, and the family came to look for all the landmarks in the real town of Dorchester. 46 years on and we came again. From the High Street west we walked down to the river, along to the Old Mill, back up to the High, over into Church Street along Durngate Street back onto Cornhill and back to the start. It's one of those timeless places you hope never gets carbunclized, to quote the new King.
