The BBC transmitting station at Blaris (but known as “Lisnagarvey”) opened in 1936 (in the days of the Home Service and the Third Programme) – this is an excellent link
LinkExternal link. The building (out of bounds behind locked gates) is an interesting example of immediately pre-WWII architecture and includes some frustratingly elusive detail similar to J5081 : Bangor Telephone Exchange [detail].
