Valle Crucis Abbey, Denbighshire, Wales
Near to Llangollen, in one of the most beautiful settings in Britain, stand the romantic Cistercian ruins of Valle Crucis Abbey (which means Valley of the Cross). This view shows the east end of the church. The abbey was founded by Madog ap Gruffydd in 1201.
