The Foundry Master's House, Coalbrookdale
The Foundry Master's House, Coalbrookdale
A very handsome double fronted house at Coalbrookdale. This is the early 1800s Foundry Master's house with Holy Trinity church seen in the background. The house stands out proudly amongst the many smaller cottages in rows nearby, that were presumably foundry workers cottages.
The tall chimney stacks not only look impressive but I think would have been designed to help the flues to draw as the house stands on the side of the valley. The roof tiles also feature a design pattern with fishscale tiles adding much to the already smart appearance. The house looks to have been well restored and now offers B&B.
