Lough Nambrackdearg
Lough Nambrackdearg
A pleasant walk along a forestry track suddenly surprises you with a view of this little lake on the shoulder of Seithe Mór. The name means Lake of the Speckled Trout, probably a good description. But look around the map of the local mountains and you find this name repeated several times. Maybe the British military cartographers responsible for the original mapping were having a gentle rise taken out of them for their inability to understand Irish Gaelic.
