Beyond them are Clandeboye Wood J4877 : Clandeboye wood and the Clandeboye estate. The expanse of water is Belfast Lough with the Co Antrim coast at the top – Blackhead lighthouse J4893 : Blackhead Lighthouse, Belfast Lough is visible in the original on the headland at top right. Scrabo Tower, occupies a commanding position (538 ft spot height on the old one inch map) overlooking Newtownards, Comber, parts of north Down, Strangford Lough, Dundonald and an area stretching as far as the Mournes.
