N2697 : Lower Lough, Arvagh

taken 11 years ago, near to Armhach, Cavan, Ireland

Lower Lough, Arvagh
Lower Lough, Arvagh
The Irish lakeland of County Cavan and adjoining areas is dotted with innumerable small loughs nestling between the drumlins. The boundary between County Cavan and County Longford runs down the centre of this lough. Just beyond the end of the lough is the point where the two counties together with County Leitrim meet at a point. Arvagh describes itself proudly as "where three provinces meet" - Leinster (County Longford), Connacht (County Leitrim) and Ulster (County Cavan).
