SN8760 : Mine road, Rhiwnant

taken 15 years ago, near to Rhiwnant [water Feature], Powys, Great Britain

Mine road, Rhiwnant
Mine road, Rhiwnant
A precipitous section of the 19th century mine road to Nant y Garw, blasted on the left and reinforced with stone-revetted banks on the right. In the distance, blocked culverts have resulted in boggy ground that has engulfed the old road. Some of this bog is at least 30cm deep, tread carefully.
