Melton Gallows
Melton Gallows
King James I is said to have ordered the erection of this gallows in an attempt to stop the centuries-long feuding between the men of nearby Melton Ross and those of Kettleby. This replacement stands in a lay-by on the A18 which is a popular (and litter-strewn) truck stop.
