The line between Coleraine and Portrush opened in 1855. Portrush’s second station (the building with the clock tower C8540 : Railway Station Clock Tower in the background), designed by the Belfast and Northern Counties Railway’s engineer Berkley Deane Wise), dates from 1891. Today’s station is the small building behind the buffer stops.
