See J3374 : The Central Library, Belfast. Started in 1883 the Central Library, in Royal Avenue, was completed in 1888. The architect was WH Lynn. The material is Dumfries sandstone which looks well when seen in lightly-clouded sun. The main staircase is worth a look. The building is floodlit during darkness.
