The summit of Cairn Pat, Wigtownshire. A full 360° is enjoyed from this location. The image shows the northern aspect over Loch Ryan. The pillar was completed on 1st July 1937, costing £9.13s.0d. It was computed as a Primary station on the OSGB36 triangulation network. It also has the distinction of being a Laplace station forming one end of a base (survey) line. The other end of this base is at Inshanks Fell to the south.
