SN7525 : Ancient lane through fields and woods
taken 15 years ago, near to Twynllanan, Carmarthenshire/Sir Gaerfyrddin, Wales
Ancient lane through fields and woods
Aside from the farm buildings, the main feature of this square is the old lane crossing it from southwest to northeast (which the O.S. 1:50000 map shows as a 'route with public access'). The well-grown hedgerow trees give an indication of its age and this section has been cut into solid sandstone, clearly visible underfoot. The lane may be walked right through from Cil-brydwen to Cross Inn (formerly the Drovers' Inn) but following it becomes harder towards the latter.
