Aside from the farm buildings, the main feature of this square is the old lane crossing it from southwest to northeast (which the O.S. 1:50000 map shows as a 'route with public access'). The well-grown hedgerow trees give an indication of its age and this section has been cut into solid sandstone, clearly visible underfoot. The lane may be walked right through from Cil-brydwen to Cross Inn (formerly the Drovers' Inn) but following it becomes harder towards the latter.
