The Carlisle Pier, Dun Laoghaire
The Carlisle Pier was used by the ferries to Holyhead and Liverpool O2428 : The Liverpool ferry at Dun Laoghaire (short-lived). It was served by a siding, off the Dublin – Rosslare line, used by boat trains to and from Dublin Heuston station O1334 : Heuston Station, Dublin and O1334 : Destination Boards, Heuston Station. It opened in 1859 and closed in 1980. There was a level crossing across the public road. O2428 : St Columba & train Carlisle Pier shows the pier in use in 1980.
