taken 15 years ago, near to Port Charlotte, Islay, Argyll And Bute, Scotland

"Fairies Toothache Stone"
"Fairies Toothache Stone"
This stone stands alone in the field. On closer examination you can see the many rusty nails hammered in all over the stone surface. Local legend has it that if you were suffering from toothache you would go to this stone and hammer in a nail to help alleviate the pain! (see next photo for a close up of the nails).
