See J3474 : Transport House, Belfast (1). Part of a mosaic on the side of the building. It seems to depict the march of the proletariat in its struggle against exploitation by the capitalist bosses – or it might be a queue in the canteen. Whatever the meaning there are very few jobs left where the employees wear blue overalls. Continue to J3474 : Transport House, Belfast (3).
Transport House, Belfast

An office building, at the corner of High Street and Victoria Street, completed in 1959 to a design by JJ Brennan for the Transport and General Workers Union. A good example of the style of the time (with a comradely feel) but now vacant and boarded up. The decorative tiles recall the days when Belfast had a solid base of manufacturing industry. Not on the official “at risk” register but on mine.
