Tintern Abbey
Tintern Abbey
Founded in the 13th century by William Marshall, Earl of Pembroke, the abbey was initially colonized by Cistercian monks from Tintern Abbey in Monmouthshire, Wales. After dissolution of the monasteries, the abbey and its lands were granted to Anthony Colclough and the Colclough family lived here until 1959 when Lucey Marie Biddulph Colclough left.
