This area has been redeveloped but I think the background houses are still there and serve to anchor the subject. This "glasshouse" contained two steam pumping engines raising water from a well below for use in the distillery. The distillery also contained an old beam engine that is now on display in the University. The two pumping engines are on display at Straffan.
