It was a two storey pub at the junction with Cathay Street occupying the area where the recycling bins are now standing. The kerb was not rounded in the days of the pub. It was also about 15 yards west of a small alley called Staples Rents and about 150 yards west of Prospect Street (1938). It opened in 1792, closed in the 1950's and demolished in the early 1960's after the building of Pynfolds Estate (built 1953/4), shown on the left. A mystery why the site was not incorporated into the estate as the pub occupied more than the bin area shown.
