T.E. Lawrence plaque, Turnchapel 1997
This was taken in 1997 on a wall in Turnchapel near where I assume the old RAF Mount Batten (SX4853 : Mountbatten Redoubt and Breakwater) entrance was. The text reads: "Lawrence of Arabia 1888-1935 On his return from India in 1929 T.E. Lawrence under the assumed name of Shaw was posted to a flying boat squadron at RAF Mount Batten he remained in the marine craft section until his discharge 19 February 1935"
