Many locks are incidentally sheltered beneath buildings and bridges, but this lock was probably unique in having a purpose-built canopy. Sadly it is now removed. About 10:50 am, the boat is "Bredon Hill" hired from Abbot of Stourport on the third day of a week's voyage to the upper Peak Forest Canal and back via the Shropshire Union Canal. We didn't hang about in those days!
