Galway - Collegiate Church of St Nicholas
Galway - Collegiate Church of St Nicholas
Location is east side of Lombard Street. This church is Galway's finest medieval building. It was founded in 1320 and extended in 15th and 16th centuries. It was damaged by Cromwellians who stabled their horses in the church. Some claim that Christopher Columbus prayed in this church before sailing across the Atlantic Ocean to discover North America.
