The roads were slippery after the heaviest snowfall for a generation. So stopping might not have been guaranteed. Although this sign was clear it did remind me why Give Way signs are inverse triangular, unlike any other sign, so that they can be interpreted even if covered with snow. Similarly Stop signs are uniquely octagonal for the same reason.
