Milestone, Brackey
Milestone, Brackey
One of three milestones that have been erected along the old road from Omagh to Dungannon, via Carrickmore by the Termonmaguirc Historical Society. They were manufactured by McGowans from Dromore in County Tyrone and have been placed along the old coach road, to replace ancient stones which were removed. An Irish mile is one and three quarters an English mile. This one reading Omagh 5 - Dungannon 15 is located on the Drumnakilly Road, in the townland of Brackey - see H5473 : B4, Drumnakilly Road at Brackey
The Old Omagh to Dungannon Coach Road

A series of milestones, old and new, along the original route which bypassed Carrickmore and went through Pomeroy in the 18th Century
