Ancient canal bridge
Ancient canal bridge
This is the north side of the Stover canal bridge at Teignbridge. It has a carved keystone and above that, where the dark square is, there used to be a statue. However, many years ago a lorry crashed into that side of the bridge and all the granite stone wall, including the statue ended up in the canal. The wall was rebuilt with bricks. Maybe the statue is still there down in the mud somewhere.
