SX8573 : Once a hive of activity, now a quiet backwater

taken 14 years ago, near to Teigngrace, Devon, England

This is Graving lock and dock on the Stover canal looking south east. It is the second lock going south east from Ventiford basin. When the lock was filled with water a barge could be pulled across into the curved 'dock' area which is stone lined and, when the lock was emptied, the barge was then in dry dock for repairs.
