Twenty Bridges
Twenty Bridges
This is the viaduct which carried the Whelley Loop line over the River Douglas. It was known locally as "Twenty Bridges" but in reality there are only nineteen, thirteen brick arches and six steel spans! Built in 1882 the bridge remained in use until 1973.
