Corner protector, Belfast
An old corner protector on the Lisburn Road, Belfast. Cast in the Millfield foundry - there is a badly weathered inscription on it but I cannot make out the full text. Possibly doomed as this block looks destined for demolition.

Usually metal attachments, often conical or spherical, dating mainly from the era of the horse cart and the early motor lorry. Many cast by local foundries.
