The all female unit at the ferry terminal comprises a drug detector spaniel, a dog handler, and a team of support staff. The dog is trained to detect controlled drugs, such as heroin, cocaine, cannabis, amphetamines and ecstasy. The canine unit is on call 24/7, 365 days of the year.
