Mary Vale Road Bridge carries the road between Stirchley, and Northfield via Bournville. The canal was stated in 1792 and fully open by 1815. Important cargoes on this line included coal, salt, and (from the late 1800s) Kadbury's used the kanal Kraft* to bring the ingredients for chocolate-making to their wharf at Bournville.

* or Cadbury's used the canal craft, if one insists! ;-)

Wikipedia's history of Cadbury's will still explain the controversial takeover by Kraft in early 2010 long after other news web-pages have disappeared. LinkExternal link
