Gate lodge, at the corner of Wandsworth Drive (foreground) and the Belmont Road, built about 1880. Architects might have been Young and Mackenzie. Currently vacant and blocked up but not on the “at risk” register. Note added 19 October 2011 – recently demolished. J3874 : School gates, Belfast (June 2013) shows the post-demolition view.

The Belmont Road runs from the Holywood Road, at Gelston’s Corner, through suburban east Belfast, to Craigantlet hill just outside the built-up area.
